Sailing down to Todd Inlet
After a pleasant night at Royal Cove, we decided it was time to head off to Heidi's new home for the next week; Todd Inlet. We untangled ourselves from the Stern tie, hoisted the anchor and we were away.
With a lovely fresh breeze blowing over the peninsula, we soon had the sails out and enjoyed a glorious trip in sunny weather all the way down to Brentwood bay. After carefully threading our way through the many moored buoys we entered a narrow channel leading into Todd Inlet which turned out to be a very well protected spot. After slowly circumnavigating the inlet we decided on our spot, dropped the hook in the middle and letting out plenty of scope, stern tied to a tree. On turning off the engine we realised just how peaceful and still this spot was. Not a breath of wind and almost oppressively hot. But at least we had the water to jump into if we got too scorched.

On the Sunday we got around to some final minor improvements (wiring in the solar) and made sure that everything was set up for Heidi and Benjy as they would be staying on the boat on their own for the rest of the week. On Sunday evening Lottie drove up to pick me up and Lottie and I left Heidi to her own devices.
That night Heidi heard lots of snuffling around the area we were stern tied to (no more than 70 feet away) Benjy went out to check but couldn't see anything. The next morning on the news it was reported that a bear was in the vicinity and they had to close Budhart gardens for safety reasons - We think Benjy has perhaps become a little too tame and needs to tune those wilder instincts!

Heidi spent the week unwinding on the boat. It was incredibly warm and she spent most of her time at Buchart Gardens, just driking from the water fountains and enjoying the flowers. Thank goodness for the season pass we had bought earlier in the year!
