Admin day in Nanaimo

Although we were still in June, it felt like we had already had quite the adventure since leaving Todd Inlet (a whole four days ago) so we decided that we should have an admin day in Nanaimo. We found a chandlery and restocked our alternator belt spares as well as getting some advice on how to configure our depth finder (apparently it's not broken, all depth finders behave the same, stopping working just when you need them!) We had a pleasant brunch in town and then spent the afternoon sorting out the boat and fretting about the next stage of the journey, up to Campbell River and beyond.

In the evening we decided to treat ourselves so went to the 'best restaurant in Nanaimo' according to the guides; The View Oceanside Grill. The food was delicious but it lacked a little ambience; the restaurant being inside a very 1970's building with original fittings and decor!

After a wonderful stroll along Nanaimo's waterfront park we headed back to Doubletime and a restful nights sleep, thankfully a little cooler.
