Holiday afloat 2020

FOr some reason this isn't documented but below are some photos from the trip

Day 1 - 01 Sep - Wharf Street to Discover Island - First time every anchoring in Puget Cove

Day 2 - 02 Sep - Puget Cove to Signdey Spit with Lottie - couldn't get north so dropped into Cadboro bay for a few hours then picked up a bouy for the first time ever

Day 3 - 03 Sep - Sidney Spit - Port Sidney Marina.

Sep 04 - Port Sidney Marina to Bedwell Harbour. Set off without opening to the seacock to the engine - alarm sounded as we left the Marina and we dropped anchor right in front of the Marina channel

Nightmare trying to find somewhere to anchor in Bedwell Harbour

Sep 05 - Bedwell Harbour to Ganges Harbour. Drive belt broke - no spares and bank holiday so no shops open. Eventually a kindly boar gave us a spare. Lifing the engine by hand to fit it. Stunning weather though

View from Ganges Harbour

06 Sep - Ganges to Sidney Spit. picked up mooring bouy again - Panda came too

On the way to Sidney Spit

07 Sep - Sidney Spit to Wharf Street. screaming run down from Sidney Spit - did a 360 with the boom preventer on. Going south with single reef on main and partially reefed Genoa wing on wing. As we rounded Discovery Island wind briefly dipped so we thought about shaking out the reef but then wind picked up with a vengeance and we were soon doing 10 knots!. Barreled into the outer harbour in Victoria but with such a strong northerly wind we were worried that the engine would not have the power to drive us in so we tacked close hauled through the outer harbour until the harbour patrol came over and said we had to stop as we were tacking across the runway. Luckily the engine was powerful enough though and we got in - exhilarating!
