Heidi takes a tumble
The wind was meant to be light today but better than Sunday so we planned to head out and repeat my journey of last week around Discovery island, possibly dropping the anchor if we had the guts to have lunch.
We had a boat in front of us when we got down to the dock so it was a tight departure. As we left Heidi was fending us off from the other boat as I gave the stern a quick kick to go round. The next thing I saw was Heidi's bum stuck up in the air and her lifejacket inflated...She had got the boat hook caught and almost been pulled overboard. We still don't know who she managed to stay on board but luckily she recovered and we headed off, hoping than not too many people had seen her!
Once out of the harbour there was next to no wind though and so after an all too brief foray we decided to head back to port. As we came in half a dozen people were there to take our lines and it transpired that most people had seen Heidi's accident and we all had a good laugh at her discomfort! There are going to be some mighty pretty bruises on her later!
As we had most of the day left we decided it was finally time to try and clean the mast. We both took turns on the bosuns chair and it was Heidi that went to the top and did most of the work. The mast and spreaders now look lovely and clean. She has really come up nice now and is shining like a new penny; the boat that is, not Heidi!
